Our skilled podiatrists understand the importance of proper foot care for children, and are able to diagnose and treat a variety of heel conditions, such as sever's disease, plantar fasciitis, and Achilles tendonitis.
Many children and adolescents do suffer from heel pain while growing and the most common source is a condition called Sever’s disease. This problem is not an actual disease, but a condition that occurs when the heel bone reaches physical maturity faster than the Achilles tendon does.
This causes a pulling on the back of the heel bone, which causes pain for your growing child during or immediately following physical activity.
